Christmas Outtakes

Hey, it's time for a blooper Christmas post. The desserts at the bottom look pretty swell, eh? They tasted so good! After dinner Joel, Caitlin and I did a spur-of-the-moment "pic session".  It was pretty fun.

I have a large flash that I use for my photography; I was having fun pointing it up and flashing my siblings with light. They definitely loved it when I would do that to them. What's a youngest born to do?

Enjoy the Christmas craziness. I'm sure you had some of your own!

Merry Christmas to you all. God bless!

RUUUUUNNNNNNN!

Not sure what Joel was doing there...

:: Harmony

Yes, this is my niece. I was privileged to be able to photograph her right after Thanksgiving. She's getting big!

I've always wondered how babies can be as cute as they are. It's God's gift, really. We adults certainly are no comparison! Although having a "mountain top experience" truly is incredible, all you need to do is take a look at a new baby, who just made their entrance into the world. It's even more incredible. The glory of God is clearly shown!

Enjoy these.

::"Such Great Heights"

As most of you know, I was in Colorado in September. Well, there are some "bonus" pictures that have yet to be shared! I was sorting through them and found these.

These images have special value. Reason being? I am attached to the incredible state of Colorado! How so much incredible countryside can fit into one state still blows my mind. Sit back and enjoy what's out there. What's in front of your eyes.

P.S. Notice how the sun is "starred" in two of the images below. It's a favorite addition to my landscape images, nowadays.

:: Joseph

A week ago, I photographed my friend Joseph's senior pictures! And just in time; it's getting colder and colder by the minute, it seems. The shoot was in a small town near Milwaukee and the evening was beautiful and quite brisk! Great weather, if you ask me. Perfect for a Pumpkin Latté, which I consumed before the shoot.

Joseph was a pleasure to photograph; a long-time friend and someone I've grown to appreciate more and more over the last few years.

Thank you, Joseph, for the honor of taking your senior pictures!

Enjoy the pictures, all.

Looking Ahead,

Ethan J.

:: One More of Katie

I wanted to share one more image from Katie's senior collection!

I'm a big fan of close-ups. They are often more descriptive of the subject than other images. This picture of Katie shows who she is at this time in her life. Senior year!

God bless you in this final stretch to graduation!

:: Katie

It was my pleasure to take senior portraits last week for my friend Katie. She is very attached to her horse, Leo, and for good reason! He was very cooperative and patient, which I appreciated. He "posed" for over an hour! :)
We had a blast (quite literally, the wind was so strong!); after a trek out to the field behind Katie's barn, we enjoyed the afternoon in "the great outdoors". We got some pictures in the process!

Here are a few from the shoot. Enjoy!

  Wow, what an incredible day! Was once again reminded of God's glory. It's easy to get caught up in whatever we are personally trying to accomplish, but when we just stand back and look at what's around us (especially during the fall season, ha), it certainly refocuses. God is the ultimate creative mind here!
If you're ever in Wisconsin (or if you're already here) during the fall months, check out Holy Hill. So beautiful.

Looking ahead,

P.S. Enjoy the pictures!

:: Garden of the Gods

What a place.

Last week Thursday we took a trip as part our photography class to Garden of the Gods. It was incredible! I could've spent all day there, easily. Mountains are a part of creation that captivate me. They exceed all expectation.
Here is an overview of what I saw; a few images that describe the Garden well.

"And the waters continued to abate until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen."
- Genesis 8:5

Enjoy & leave a comment!

:: Family Shoot

As part of the photography class I took last week, our largest assignment was a client shoot. We had about an hour and a half to get 25 quality images of a family that was chosen for us. I was working with another student, and we both had to have 25 images each, in that amount of time. Ha - It was a test of our time-management skills, to say the least. Fortunately, working with people is something I thoroughly enjoy. That helped. Still though, it was a stretching experience!

This family was a joy to photograph. Their children were very sweet: the little girl was an introvert and wasn't a big fan of the camera. Despite that fact, she barely fussed and was pretty chill with being "in the light". And the little guy, who is 8 months old, was a complete extravert. It was great! He had the largest eyes, and didn't mind showing them off. :) It was a blast.

Chris and Valeen (Mom and Dad) were very kind and willing to work with me and the other student to get some great shots! It was a very good learning experience as a whole, and I am so thankful for it.

Looking ahead,

Ethan
